Chili Cookoff is a Hit!
The Chili Cookoff was a roaring success. The organizer, Beverly Sands, was excited enough that she said, “Holy Cow” but really, the cow, the elk, and the buffalo were holy. The event featured the following wonderful chili providers:
- The Gun Barrel Restaurant which received the Vendors Choice award
- The Texas Roadhouse which received the Judges Choice award
- Scaldoni’s Italian Restaurant
- The Fish Rock Grille at the Ledges which received the Peoples Choice award
- The Cosmopolitan
- Chili’s Restaurant
- Cherry Creek Radio
- Dixie Care and Share Board
- Lots of sweet baked goods from New Promise Lutheran Church, Desert Springs Church, and Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church
All of the chili was really fantastic this year, and the crowd, the judges, and the vendors had a lot of work to figure out who should get the awards. Next year, maybe a reward for desserts (?) because those were incredible too. Our sponsors list for this year is:
- Gold Sponsors: Soltis; St. George Community Church
- Silver Sponsors: Bob Sands and Associates; Employease; Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church; Sherry McGee Insurance; Thrivent Financial for Lutherans
- Bronze Sponsors: Zions Bank; The Offices of Dr. McDonald; Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church; Desert Springs Church; Jean Ellis and family; Our Savior’s Lutheran Church; New Promise Lutheran Church
- “In Kind Sponsors”: The Spectrum; KCSG Television; Cherry Creek Radio; Rainbow Sign; Canyon Land Party Rentals
The event this year created a donation for Dixie Care and Share of $7600 which will be used for food and shelter for the hungry and the broken. Thanks to all of you who gave and participated in this very successful event this year!
