Entry Form

Entry Deadline is October 3^rd

1.   Please fill out entry form completely and legibly.

2.   Please include information indicating the name of the exhibitor(s) and the name of the scarecrow.

3.   Entry fee is $20.00 to everyone. After the entry fee is paid you will receive a 6 foot frame and a stand for your scarecrow. These frames and stands are the only ones to be used for this event.

4.   Scarecrows must be designed in a standing position.

5.   No electric outlets will be provided.

6.   Scarecrows must be constructed to withstand weather conditions (rain, wind, etc.)

7.   Bucket stands are not to be covered. You can decorate inside the top (moss, rocks, straw, etc.).

8.   Stuffing can be anything, but newspaper and water soluble peanuts will not work. (Plastic shopping bags hold up best…)

9.   Facial expression is the first thing a viewer will notice. The face can be sad, cheerful, beautiful, ugly or angry. It could be a famous person or a cartoon character.

10.   Hair can be made from a variety of materials including yarn, pipe cleaners, shredded plastic, moss, rope, raffia, mop head or torn strips of fabric.

11.   Accessories make the difference! Add hats, gloves, shoes, scarf, flowers, etc.

12.   Some suggestions for the head are old milk jugs, flower pot, wood, basketball, plastic pumpkin, pillowcase or burlap.

13.   No perishable goods (squash, pumpkins, etc.) may be used in the construction of your scarecrow. (You may use artificial fruit, veggies, etc.)

14.   Scarecrows must be set up Saturday, October 24th from 9:00AM to 10:00AM.

15.   Judging will take place at 10:30 AM.

16.   Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category along with a participant ribbon for each entry.

17.   Silent Auction will start at 11:30 AM and end at 12:30PM.

18.   Scarecrows must be in good taste. Those that reflect controversial, social or political situations will not be accepted. The Scarecrow Committee reserves the right to not accept any scarecrow that is deemed inappropriate

We want to make this an event you will want to be a part of year after year. This is an excellent opportunity to help your community and it will be greatly appreciated.

When constructing your scarecrow please remember, each scarecrow will be auctioned off to the highest bidder and we want to raise as much money as we can to give back to others.

Follow the rules and guidelines so this can be an event that you can be proud to have participated in.

I also hereby release and hold harmless Dixie Care & Share, its employees, officers and agents from any and all claims for loss, damage or injury incurred by Scarecrow Contest creations, participants, their employees and/or agents.
