Thanks to Community Heros
Dixie Care and Share has recently been blessed by the efforts of several of our community members:
- Carpets Plus came over with a crew and carpet and recarpeted one of our transitional houses. Thanks for the time and talents, and the materials to Carpets Plus !
- LaRae, the gang at The Planet Radio 94.3, and Dave’s Barbeque did a fantastic job last week of raising money and garnering food donations for Dixie Care and Share. The weeklong stint brought in much needed funds for the shelter.
- Trinity Lutheran Church held an Octoberfest and brought us $1600 from their efforts!
- The Battle of the Bowls Chili Cookoff, held in early November with Texas Roadhouse, The Gun Barrel, Desert Springs Church. Champions of Dixie Care & Share, and New Promise Lutheran Church all participating, entertained the town, raised funds for the shelter and gave everyone a great time.
- Bryce Christensen and his gang came and tore out the old, throttled, lumpy, ugly driveway that goes into the food area. Thanks, guys!
- Western Rock and the gang of heat resistant heros came over and put a new driveway in at the facility. This avoids the bumps, lumps, and puddles we have been suffering. Great goin’ in the sun!
- Rick Rosenberg, Rosenberg Associates, recently donated some of his employees to create a new survey of the Dixie Care and Share property. Thanks for the measure, gentlemen!
- Â Dennis and his gang over at PC Architects are beginning drawings for a new, modern, clean, and community-beneficial building to house Dixie Care and Share. This is a lot of work and we cannot tell them how wonderful they are to us!
- We got a big donation last week from the whole team over at Boulevard Furniture. They came in with a big check that the employees had put together for all the souls who need a little help! Great going and great giving, furniture folk!
- Pace Trailers drove over with two trailers crammed with food for the pantry. The employees had been collecting the cans for a few days and ended up with several thousand pounds to fill the shelves. Bring us a Pace Trailer any day!
Thanks to all of these kind souls who believe in helping their fellow man (woman, and child). We as a community are blessed to have them.
